How Can We Help?

Stereoscopic tour shows as monoscopic, how to fix that?

Important: this is only for stereoscopic tours created with the ‘nodes are stereopairs’ technique that uses two nodes for each panorama. One for the left eye and one for the right eye.

To tell VR Tourviewer you have a tour with stereopairs, you can add a User Data Tag called ‘stereo‘ in Pano2VR in at least one panorama. Best practice is to add this tag to the first panorama.

Or you can add it manually in the output xml file, it only has to be added to one panorama’s userdata:
<userdata author=”” source=”” latitude=”” info=”” title=”” description=”” longitude=”” comment=”” customnodeid=”” tags=”stereo” copyright=”” datetime=””/>

If there are already other tags present, make sure to add a ‘pipe’ character before ‘stereo’:
<userdata author=”” source=”” latitude=”” info=”” title=”” description=”” longitude=”” comment=”” customnodeid=”” tags=”livingroom|stereo” copyright=”” datetime=””/>

For versions of VR Tourviewer earlier than 1.0.244 (currently only the Cardboard version) also make sure to use an even number of panoramas, otherwise monoscopic display will be forced.

When using ‘nodes as stereopairs’ you need to setup hotspots for the left and right eye separately like this:
Node 1 : Panorama A – left > hotspot points to Pano B left
Node 2 : Panorama A – right > hotspot points to Pano B right
Node 3 : Panorama B – left > hotspot points to Pano A left
Node 4 : Panorama B – right > hotspot points to Pano B right
Also the titles of the hotspots in the left and right panorama have to be the same.

(Note that to display stereoscopic video properly in VR Tourviewer, you need to use a different technique explained here: Stereoscopic 360 video. This technique can be used in both monoscopic and stereoscopic tours.)

If you’re seeing two different panoramas instead of one stereo panorama please check here.
