YOUR APP – YOUR CHOICES
Offline and online access
By default this version only uses the ‘Storage’ section, for offline usage, no WiFi connection needed. The top menu of the VR Tourviewer menu/tour gallery will be hidden then.
Your local (storage) tours will not be included in the app, so you will always be able to change, add or remove your tours when needed. On the local storage of your device a folder with your app name will be created (just like the VRTourviewer folder for the standard app). You can copy your tours to this folder. There’s no limit to the number of tours you can add/use.
Online access can be added optionally: you will then be able to control which online tours are available in your VR app with a simple management page: Custom App Settings Manager. You need to be logged in to use this, you can register or login here. This works in the same way as the Featured tours in VR Tourviewer, your users won’t have to add online tours manually.
Distribution
For Oculus Quest 1 and 2: a white label version will be visible in Oculus Home/Oculus Store for the licensed devices. Distribution will be through a dedicated Oculus Release Channel.
The email addresses of the Oculus accounts that are used by the VR devices will be added to this channel. Oculus will then sent an invitation to those email addresses to join the channel. When a link in that email is clicked to confirm the invitation, the app will be visible in the Oculus Store of that device. Note that you can use one Oculus account on multiple devices for easy management.
For Rift: a Windows installer will be delivered.
For Oculus Go: a white label app for Oculus Go can only be ‘side loaded’.
For Pico: an APK file will be delivered that can be installed manually on your Pico device. Works with the business focused headsets: G2 4K, Neo 2, Neo 2 Pro, Neo 3 Pro, Neo 3 Pro Eye. When using Neo 3 Link (consumer headset), the app will be shown as from ‘Unknown Source’ and will show a warning each time when starting the app.
For Cardboard: an APK file will be delivered that can be installed manually on your Android device.
